Hazy Little Thing Called Love is about family, romance and prosecco, apparently. Josie Long is one of many comedians taking a work-in-progress show to the Fringe for a few nights. She promises something silly and experimental but knowing Long it will also likely be an hour of political, personal and deeply accomplished stand-up. The third solo show from the promising Russian-born stand-up will see her once again dig deep into her identity for laughs ahead of a tour this autumn.
One to watch. The genial host of The Mash Report is going on tour this autumn. Nominated for best newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, Bauer left is a bold, brash force of nature whose new show will tackle the idea of self-care, while south Londoner Sikisa explores her bad girl side in a work-in-progress.

With a characteristic absurdist streak, it examines mental illness and theatre through the story of two actors who work in a psychiatric institution where they role-play the life story of their patient.
It is performed, fittingly, at Tynecastle Park stadium. Without doubt, yes. Is it far-fetched to think we can reform the Fringe in this way? Everything about the festival has always been far-fetched. This year is a necessary stepping-stone back to normality. The Edinburgh Fringe is a remarkable, vital thing. It could be an awful lot better.
