Who is the inbetweeners

The Happy Foundation is a charity for people with Down's Syndrome. Their members are first encountered when Will inadvertently calls them "inconsiderate arseholes" when getting on the Nemesis Inferno.

In retaliation, they vandalise Simon's car. Jay 's "Friend" appears in the series one episode " Girlfriend ". The two apparently met during Jay's West Ham trials that Simon claims never happened. Jay acts uncharacteristically friendly around him, which causes Simon , Will and Neil to start squealing "Friend! Eventually, Jay grows tired of the taunting, and after spotting the friend's car parked on the road, starts jumping on the bonnet screaming "Ooh friend!

Fucking football friend! Becky appears in the episode Caravan Club. Jay introduces Simon to her promising him that she was going to have sex with him. Simon is very excited that he was finally going to "be a man" and buys into Jay 's usual lies. Later on Becky starts to dance with Simon and the two kiss. Simon takes her outside where he rips off her top and puts on a condom.

However, Becky starts shouting at Simon as she was in fact not ready. Becky's father later warns Simon to stay away from Becky. The Punk Girl appears in " Caravan Club ". She's quite promiscuous, exactly like Jay described all the girls at the club. When she sees Will , she forces herself on him and demands that he has sex with her. Will is frightened, so he suggests they just take off their shoes and skid, which puts her off. Later on, she notices Neil 's dancing and questions if he's "subversively mocking this place or actually enjoying himself".

It was later revealed that the punk girl and Neil engaged in mutual masturbation in Simon's car , leaving their bodily fluids all over the seats. Miss Timms , played by Amanda St. John, is a Biology teacher at Rudge Park Comprehensive. She teaches Neil Sutherland , who is attracted to her, saying that she is "fit for a teacher".

She acted as a chaperone at the school Christmas party in Series 1 along with Phil Gilbert. It was on this occasion when a drunk Neil attempted to kiss Miss Timms. Except for the school Christmas party when they remarked that she looked "quite fit" Will , Simon and Jay do not find Miss Timms that attractive, with Will pointing out that she is the only female faculty member who is under the age of thirty.

Neil mentions that he dropped a ruler next to Miss Timms. It is unknown whether he is Neil's friend. Samantha is very similar to Jay , stating that Jay's monologue on sensitivity and trust "sounded really bent". When Jay hears this — and realises they have this in common — he invites her to spend part of the school prom in the DJ booth.

He claims that she gave him a blowjob; an assertion that is quickly dismissed by the other lads. Rather, she gave Jay a handjob "outside the trousers". In the first episode of series 2 , Jay mentions that he has a friend in Year Thirteen by this name who had sex with a mature woman on the field trip to Swanage the previous year. He mentions his name again in the Series 3 preview. Simon claims he has never heard of him, so it is questionable as to whether he exists. In the last episode of the third series, Neil reveals that he had sex with a colleague at work who he refers to as "Saucy Asda Karen".

She texts him saying that she "did the test, it's positive", leading Neil to believe she's saying that he's got her pregnant. It is later revealed that she actually meant she was tested positive for chlamydia and now Neil has contracted the STI.

Lauren is a Northern Irish girl who joins the school in the second term, making her sole appearance in " The Field Trip ". She is developed as a love interest for Will for this episode only. However, she prefers Simon , and this creates a conflict between the pair. At the end of the episode, Will states she moved away shortly afterwards. Danny Moore is a year-old boy from Northwood.

He is first encountered in "Work Experience" when Simon accidentally bumps into him in a corridor. Simon apologies, but Jay refers to Danny as a "short arse", which Danny thinks was said by Simon. Later that week at an under 18s disco, Simon is receiving a handjob from Hannah Fields when Danny pushes Simon to the ground and repeatedly kicks him in the crotch. This causes Neil, Simon and Jay to hide in the toilets, fearing Danny would set his older friends on them.

Toby, played by Adam G. Goodwin, is a journalist who works at the local newspaper where Neil works for work experience due to a mix up with work placements. Neil later turns up at Jay's dad's plant hire yard where he tells them the newspaper let him go home at lunch.

Wolfie , played by David Fynn, is a "seventeen-year-old" mechanic who works at the garage where Will McKenzie was placed for work experience. He is seen in the Garage with his boss, Jim and colleague, Steve. He attends the under-eighteen's disco to see Charlotte Hinchcliffe as Will said he has a "girlfriend with "big titties". When he arrives, he says he came to check out his missus and phones his boss and Jim reveals everything Will had said about her, causing Charlotte to throw a drink over Will in disgust, just before leaving he taunts Will that he will see "him" on Monday.

Steve is the quietest of the three mechanics at the garage where Will goes for work experience. He has a beard and shaggy hair and he also has a BTEC which he is very pleased about.

Jim , played by Cavan Clerkin , is the head mechanic at the garage where Will does his work experience placement. Jim, along with his colleagues Wolfie and Steve, is initially friendly towards Will when he arrives, but Will quickly antagonises him when he refers to their occupation as "dirty" and "not academic". Jim sends Will on a fool's errand with a list of items that he needs eg.

After a pint at The Crown, he, Steve and Wolfie kidnap Will and throw him in the river with his trousers down. The following day, Jim quizzes Will on his sex life and comes to the correct conclusion that he is a virgin. Will denies this telling them that Charlotte Hinchcliffe is his girlfriend and that they had sex. That night Jim sends Wolfie to the under eighteen's disco since he is seventeen and thus, entitled to go where Charlotte was working and she tells Jim using Wolfie's phone that Will is not her boyfriend and that they did not have sex.

Jim is not seen again. She is extremely flirtatious and pretty, especially with Simon. During that week at the under-eighteens disco, Simon is stood with Jay , Neil and Will when Jay points out that Hannah has just walked through the door. Hannah approaches Simon and asked if he wants some of her drink. Simon says that he already has a drink but Hannah pulls out a bottle of vodka and adds it to Simon's juice.

After Hannah has finished Simon's drink, she then pulls him by his shirt towards the wall she then says out of the blue "You're well sexy, I used to stare at you in assembly. She leaves the disco, embarrassed after Simon is shoved to the floor and beaten by Danny Moore. Will's parents have recently separated, due to his father having an affair with a woman four years older than Will, but his mother attributes the school move to bullying.

On moving to the new school, Simon, Neil and Jay become Will's friends after initially trying to avoid him. Will is best known for his upper-class mannerisms, which makes him an even bigger target for bullies than he would have been at his old school. While he displays a deadpan cynicism during narration and among the other boys, he can be overwhelmingly optimistic, much to the ire of Mr.

Will is also quite stubborn, getting into arguments when he feels wronged and quickly escalating into shouting at the person he is arguing with.

These situations are always followed by a moment of humiliation for Will. He is an unconventional hero - although he is generally the wittiest and most level-headed of the group, he is prone to making bad choices and outrageous remarks. He is generally sophisticated, sensible and possesses intelligence that surpasses that of his friends. Another dominant characteristic is his tendency to deliver sarcastic, dry humoured remarks, some of which get him into trouble.

Will also appears to follow certain ethical laws, though is not above occasionally committing dubious acts, such as purchasing alcohol illegally, insulting Neil's father while intoxicated, and accidentally insulting people who are disabled, among others. Will aspires to have a career in law or maybe the media, and was supposed to be attending a local newspaper office for work experience.

However, a mix-up with applications sends Neil to the newspaper office instead of "driving aeroplanes" and Will spends his placement at a garage, where he ultimately fails to fit in and gets bullied by the staff working there.

At the end of the second series, when the boys face exams, Will began to crack under pressure and relies on energy drinks to keep him awake - believing that if he didn't sleep he can spend more time revising. This plan unfortunately backfires, leading to him soiling himself during his final exam, and after completing it several hours late, he goes to the pub and downs three pints of lager, compensating for the fact that he has probably failed his Politics AS level.

He is interested in Charlotte "Big Jugs" Hinchcliffe, and the two of them have been known to spend time together, with Will accidentally ruining their relationship. He nearly lost his virginity to Charlotte after telling her in school a few days prior that he had had numerous lovers, although when they did attempt to have sex, Charlotte was let down by Will's unsuccessful attempt; in his own words, "rubbing up against the perineum".

He is repulsed by her as she is taller than he is, and is rather ditzy and boring; however once he hears how she is known for fellating her last few boyfriends, he continues his relationship with her.

They unexpectedly share a kiss when Kerry escorts him back home, which gives her the impression that they are now dating. At Neil's eighteenth birthday party, Will causes outrage by attempting to harshly break-up with Kerry, not knowing that her father had died a month previously, and that Tara had arranged their relationship to comfort her.

Will later attempts to arrange a final camping holiday with the lads before they go their separate ways after leaving school. Will is the only character out of the four to never pass his driving test; this is in large part due to the fact his mother did not sign him up for driving lessons on his 17th birthday as she thought the minimum age was In The Inbetweeners Movie , the group go on holiday to Malia in Greece after leaving school, where Will meets Alison, a woman with a similar personality to him.

Despite Alison initially acting distant towards Will's advances, owing to the fact that she already has a boyfriend, they become closer and she suggests they go skinny dipping one night. At the beach the following night, Alison strips naked in front of Will, imploring him to do the same before placing his hand on her breast, and they appear to be growing closer until she catches her boyfriend having sex with another woman and runs off crying.

They ultimately reconcile at a boat party later that week, where Alison admits to Will that she really likes him. Will affirms that he likes her as well and they begin a relationship. Simon Cooper : Though at first Simon is embarrassed by him, and tells him to "hang back" on the way to the Sixth Form common room, they eventually start to become friends, and by later episodes, they have become best friends, with Simon coming to Will first with his problems.

They share similar beliefs and this may be the reason they bonded so quickly. They act, together, as the level-headed, more mature part of the group, with Will severely missing Simon when he gets a girlfriend and spends less time with him. Will even states he's glad, at the end of the episode, that Simon was dumped by Tara , because he can get him back as a friend.

Will is also the one who holds Jay and Neil back from moving in when Simon is talking to Tara, and Simon is the first to tell him that he needs to lay off the energy drinks at exam time. Will also feels confident enough to confide in Simon about the loss of all his pubic hair a result of Jay and Neil's pranks and even asks him to look at it, but Simon tells him that "friendship only goes so far", and refuses to do so.

Simon also comes to him first when Tara needs someone for her friend to date, and he calls Will in the last episode to tell him he is going "to touch Carli in her bedroom", to which Will rushes out to save him like "a superhero in pyjamas".

He fails, and Simon gets the wrong room, but that's besides the point. Simon says that Will is just as "stupid as the rest of us" and only his accent makes him sound smart, but his car had been dumped in the lake and he was venting his feelings, so Will forgives him, even burning his own stuff to cheer him up.

Jay Cartwright : Will has a complicated relationship with Jay. Insecure Simon's main quest in life is to get long time friend, Carli D'Amato, to be his girlfriend. Jay is the big talker whose stories, especially about his sexual conquests, are more fantasy than reality.

And slightly dim-witted Neil is generally two steps behind everyone else in comprehension of life, and who is always defending his father from beliefs that he's a closet homosexual. Into the group comes its fourth member, Will McKenzie, who met them when he transferred into their school, Rudge Park Comprehensive, at the start of sixth form, as Will's newly divorced mum could no longer afford his private school tuition.

Nerdish and straight-laced Will, ridiculed for carrying a briefcase, insinuated himself in the group - not aiming his sights too high - as he tried not to be labeled as one of the freaks. Regardless, he is still the target of the school's "psycho bully", Mark Donovan, and the head of Rudge Park's sixth form, Mr. Will's initial saving grace in bonding with his new mates may have been that they all want to shag his pretty but protective mother, Polly.

Did you know Edit. Trivia Greg Davies , who played the role of Mr. Gilbert; worked as a teacher of Drama and English for thirteen years in real life.

He later gave up his teaching career to become a stand-up comedian. Goofs The registration plates on the front and back of Simon's car are different throughout all episodes where the car is seen. User reviews 99 Review. Top review. The Inbetweeners is a breath of fresh air to comedy programs, not over the top stupidity, nor do you have to be at all intellectual to find it funny, the plot revolves around 4 young students entering sixth form and follows there days as your average teenager, its the great mix of characters which makes this worth your time in watching as i'm sure most people can relate to one of the 4, based in the UK the "average" group of friends find them selves in all sorts of awkward, embarrassing and often hilarious moments which all of us would have probably encountered sometime or another in our teen years,I hope to see more of these new actors in the future, this series is just what we needed, a comedy of the new generation.

FAQ 3. He once wound up one of his friends because he had made a new friend by jumping up and down on the car of the new friend shouting, "Friend! In the flat we talked about writing a sitcom while doing our normal jobs to a mediocre level, neither of us really thinking it would happen; partly due to laziness and partly due to the fact that we were scared it would be shit and people would laugh at us.

After about three years it took him meeting a woman and moving out before we decided to go for it. In a dramatic gesture, I quit my incredibly comfortable job to commit to writing, not realising that because we went away to a cottage in the country the first draft would only take us a week, leaving me broke and with a lot of time on my hands. It was an intensive week, though, and it produced what is many people's favourite episode of The Inbetweeners, Bunk Off , where Joe Thomas's character Simon scrawls "I love Carli D'Amato" over her drive Damon did this , drunkenly asks her to pleasure herself in front of him I did this , and finally vomits on her brother we made that bit up.

We spent the early part of the week discussing our characters' life stories, but by then we knew what our sitcom was going to be; we'd finally put two and two together and realised that if we were going to make other people laugh, we should start from what made us laugh the most.

Which was us and our friends being naive idiots at school. And, in my case, quite a long time after school. So that was what we wanted to write, but we genuinely wanted to make as many people laugh as possible, so we went through a checklist of reasons why people may or may not like it: It would be about boys.

Could be seen as a negative, but at the same time if we got it right everyone had either been or had known a teenage boy. Also, we wanted to write about men. We loved and still love films such as Swingers , Withnail And I and American Pie, all of which we liked to describe as "brilliant character studies" but actually are really just well-made funny films that are accessible.

Someone once accused us of ripping off Fellini's I Vitelloni, which the snob in me wishes dearly was true but, sadly, couldn't be further from the mark; I don't even know how to spell it. If they'd said Animal House, however … So boys would be fine. Suburbia was our next point to discuss.

It was a world we both knew intimately. Our houses, despite being over 50 miles apart, looked exactly the same.
